Generally, the jack is a device used to lift the loads with the help of less effort. A jack can work by mechanical, electrical, Mechanical, water, and air based on the method of force generation. A jack is playing a vital role in mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering related activities.

The mechanical jacks are the simple mechanical device used to lift or move heavy loads by applying less force through a simple screw mechanism. In which the rotary motion (clockwise & anticlockwise) converts in to linear motion (up & down or left & right) with a rotational torque.

The mechanical jacks widely used in all parts of the world for various application such as lifting, moving, positioning, retaining, and handling the heavy loads by all engineering industries, production industries, construction industries, fabrication industries, structural industries, automobile industries, etcetera.

The mechanical jacks generally assembled with some engineering elements that are a lead screw, base nut, thrust bearing, sturdy stand, and serrated load base. Depends on the application, the mechanical jacks also assembled with different engineering elements that are a lead screw with worm and wheel, a lead screw with bevel gears.

The mechanical jacks lift or move the heavy loads (output) by transferring the rotational torque (input) to the lead screw through the contact surface of the thread formed through the perfect spiral root over the periphery of the shaft and inner periphery of the bush.

Depends on the weight of the object, the displacement of the object, and the type of the object moved the mechanical jacks designed, fabricated, machined, and assembled. The factors such as the material of the shaft & nut, the diameter of the shaft, the type of the thread, the pitch of the thread, etcetera considered while designing the mechanical jacks.

The quality of the mechanical jacks depends on its efficiency and performance generally, based on the engineering designs, the material of the lead screw, nut and stand, accuracy of the machining process, quality of the heat treatment, quality of the bearings, etcetera.
